JOHN LEGEND HEADLINES SAINT LUCIA 20TH JAZZ FESTIVAL
Six time Grammy winner John Legend will headline 2011 Saint Lucia Jazz Festival. Legend has sold more than five million albums worldwide, known for multiple hit singles ("Ordinary People," "Used to Love U," "So High," "Save Room," "Heaven," "Another Again").
From April 30 to May 8, 2011, St. Lucia Jazz festival lineup will be a makeup of international, renowned jazz, R&B, pop and soul musicians. Saint Lucian artistes include:
Ledisi: Singer-songwriter Ledisi sharing highlights from her Grammy nominated albums Lost & Found and Turn Me Loose.
Regina Carter: American jazz violinist, Regina Carter, will share African folk tunes from her latest album, Reverse Thread.
Bad Ass Brass: The band was formed in 2008, taking influence from traditional New Orleans brass bands.
Maceo Parker: American funk and jazz saxophonist, will get the audience with hits from his newest album Roots & Grooves.
Saint Lucian Collective: A Saint Lucian's jazz icon who will perform sounds of sweet pulsating Caribbean beats.
The St Lucia Jazz Festival will have complimentary daily shows of acoustic, reggae, new age, jazz, soul and R&B at a variety of locations and venues around the island. Including the famous Jazz on the Square in Castries and Fond d?Or Jazz in Dennery. Headliners perform at the main stage held at Pigeon Island National Park and Gaiety in Rodney Bay.
